Professor Masao Nagai received degrees of Bachelor, Master and Doctor in Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at University of Tokyo, in 1972, 1974 and 1977, respectively. And he joined Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in 1977. He was a visiting researcher at Institute of Vehicle Dynamics, at Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, from 1982 to 1983.

He teaches Mechanics of Machinery, Vehicle Dynamics at undergraduate school, and Advanced Vehicle Dynamics and Control at graduate school.

His research interests are Vehicle Dynamics and Control, Active Control, Advanced Driver Assistance System, Active Safety, Human Machine Interaction, ITS, and so on. He is a member of JSAE (Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan), JSME (Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers), SICE (Society of Instrument and Control Engineers), RSJ (Robotics Society of Japan), JAVIT (Japan Association of Vibration Technology), and others.

He is now a Member of SCJ (Science Council of Japan), and Vice-President of JSAE, President of NECO.
