Through the implementing of Passive Safety technologies, enhancing of safety regulation/Public Domain ratings, and increasing of public awareness, traffic related fatalities and injuries have reduced significantly. However, further reduction to achieve the ultimate goal of “Zero Fatality” mandates faster pace of new technology development and implementation. Driver Assist and Active Safety features play critical roles in achieving this vision. With the trend of mega cities, Vehicle Communication technology and infrastructure are crucial in both resolving congestion and enhancing safety.

主讲人简介：

Dr. James Cheng was born in Taipei, Taiwan. He completed his BS degree from National Taiwan University. He continues pursuing his MS degree at UC Berkeley and PhD degree at Purdue University where his major is Engineering Mechanics. In 1988, he joined Ford, and has served for 24 years. He is currently a Senior Manager of Passive Safety Research department. Dr. Cheng has in depth Safety and Vehicle Design/development/testing experiences. He has successfully launched many major Ford programs, and has help Ford in establishing its Safety Leadership position.
